Lent at Christ Church

Lent is a special time of reflection, prayer, and preparation in the lead-up to Easter. At Christ Church, we observe this season with a series of services and activities designed to help deepen our faith and connection to God.

Throughout Lent, we offer Bible studies, reflective services, and opportunities for personal growth and spiritual renewal. It's a time to reflect on Jesus' journey to the cross and consider what that means for us in our daily lives.

Mothering Sunday at Christ Church

Mothering Sunday is a cherished tradition at Christ Church, offering a time to give thanks for mothers, carers, and those who nurture us in our lives and faith. This special day, celebrated on the fourth Sunday of Lent, is also a time to reflect on the nurturing love of God.

Join us for a family-friendly service where we celebrate all those who provide care, with special prayers and moments of gratitude. During the service, flowers will be distributed as a token of appreciation for mothers and all who support us.

Holy Week and Easter at Christ Church

Holy Week and Easter are the heart of the Christian calendar, marking the journey from Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem to His crucifixion and glorious resurrection. At Christ Church, we invite you to join us in reflecting on the deep significance of these days.

Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday, where we remember Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, followed by services throughout the week, including Maundy Thursday’s commemoration of the Last Supper and Good Friday’s solemn reflection on the crucifixion.

Easter Sunday is a joyous celebration of the resurrection, the ultimate victory over death, and the hope of new life. We welcome you to join us for these meaningful services as we journey together in faith through Holy Week to the joy of Easter morning.

The Church Clock at Christ Church is Ticking Once Again!

We are delighted to announce that the much-loved clock on our church tower is once again fully operational. After nearly 60 years of service, the motor driving the clock mechanism on all four faces of the tower failed in late October 2024. Thanks to the generosity of our community, a successful fundraising campaign, and the expertise of Lancashire Clockmakers, the clock is now back to keeping perfect time.

Lenten Lunches - Join Us Every Sunday During Lent!

As we embark on this sacred season of Lent, Christ Church is delighted to invite you to our Lenten Lunches, which will be held every Sunday during Lent at 12:15pm—right after our morning service, which starts at 10:30am. This cherished tradition is a wonderful opportunity for our church family and the wider community to come together, reflect, and enjoy a simple meal in fellowship.
