Fiona and Jackie Step Down After 25 Years of Leading Junior Church
Today marks the end of an era for Christ Church as Fiona and Jackie, who have faithfully led our Junior Church for over 25 years, hand over the reins to Donna and Sarah. Their dedication and love for nurturing the faith of the youngest members of our congregation have left a lasting legacy.
Throughout the years, Fiona and Jackie have helped guide countless children on their spiritual journeys, creating a warm and welcoming space where young minds could explore their faith and grow in God’s love. Their devotion echoes the words of Jesus in Matthew 19:14, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Revd. Tommy expressed his deep gratitude for their incredible service: "Fiona and Jackie have been pillars of our Junior Church for over two decades. Their leadership and love for the children have had a profound impact on this church community. We can never truly express how grateful we are for their selfless service. They have shaped the hearts and minds of so many young people, and we are deeply thankful."
Reflecting on their time leading Junior Church, Fiona said, "It’s been a joy and a privilege to be part of so many children’s lives, helping them grow in their faith. I’ve loved seeing them come in with wide eyes and curious minds and leave with a sense of God’s love." Jackie added, "We’ve shared so many special moments with the children, and I’ll always treasure the laughter, learning, and love that filled our time together."
As they step down, Fiona and Jackie are excited to pass the torch to Donna and Sarah, confident that Junior Church will continue to thrive under their care. "We know Donna and Sarah will do a wonderful job, and we’re looking forward to supporting them in any way we can," Fiona and Jackie said in unison.
Donna and Sarah are eager to carry on the legacy, bringing new energy and creativity to Junior Church while building on the strong foundation that Fiona and Jackie have laid.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Fiona and Jackie for their 25 years of devoted service and wish them all the best as they take a well-deserved step back. Christ Church is blessed to have had such wonderful leaders, and we look forward to the continued growth of Junior Church under its new leadership.
