Christ Church Sowerby Bridge is preparing for a spectacular evening of music, celebration and patriotic flag-waving as the Friendly Brass Band returns for Last Night of the Proms on Saturday 17th October at 7.30pm.
This will mark the band's third visit to Christ Church within a year, and we are delighted to welcome them back once again. This time, the full band will be joining us for an evening packed with wonderful brass music, familiar favourites and all the atmosphere of a traditional Last Night of the Proms.
Audience members are encouraged to bring their Union Jack flags and get ready to wave the red, white and blue as we celebrate together. Whether you're a lifelong brass band enthusiast or simply enjoy a good evening of music, this promises to be an occasion for everyone.
Celebrating 500 Years of Faith
The concert forms part of Christ Church's year-long programme of special events marking 500 years of a Christian presence in Sowerby Bridge (1526–2026).
Throughout the year, we have been bringing people together through concerts, community celebrations and special occasions, reflecting on our rich history while looking forward to the future.
Last Night of the Proms will continue those celebrations, filling our beautiful church with the magnificent sound of a full brass band and bringing the community together for another memorable evening.
